This handsome outfit "reputably made and worn for the owner of the Stourhead country estate in Wiltshire, Sir Hugh Richard Hoare, 4th Baronet (1787-1857), and passed down through the family of his wife Anne Tyrwhitt Drake (1792-1847)." has recently been located by two of our members, David and Alison Lawrence.  The Curator responsible for Stourhead is very interested so maybe we will be lucky enough to see it returned there one day.

NATIONAL TRUST ONLINE SHOP DISCOUNT

 

Members can now obtain a discount from the National Trust’s on line shop if spending over £25.  This can be found at  www.nationaltrust.org.uk/shop.   The voucher number can be obtained from the Membership Secretary -Helen Houlston.

The offer expires on 15th October 2009

MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTIONS are now overdue.  Please send them to Helen Houlston.  You will now receive a Membership Card which will allow you a 15% reduction on products at Cotswold Outdoor. Your card will show a unique affiliate account code which maybe used in store or on line.  Helen Firth has tried it out and recommends their socks!  

BOURNEMOUTH AND POOLE ASSOCIATION

Membership is open to all National Trust members and BNTV members who have a volunteer card (completed 50 hours work in a year).  The programme of talks is excellent. Information from Marcia.

GROUP EVENTS organised by the National Trust are available to members.  These include visits to properties, cookery demonstrations and even cruises.

Basecamps are available for holidays at 31 venues.
